Beach Soccer Stadium

2005

PECS was responsible for the structural and foundation projects and for some specialties at the Porto Santo Beach Football Stadium.

In addition to the development of the projects, he was also responsible for their coordination and for monitoring the respective administrative licenses.

This sports infrastructure includes a support building for the sports area, consisting of a single floor, which houses changing rooms, offices, medical post, sanitary facilities, ticket offices, press booth, bar and storage.

Description

The building's structure consists of a mesh of reinforced concrete pillars with dimensions of 0.25´0.25 m2 and 0.25´0.50 m2, fully inserted into the facade walls and supporting concrete beam alignments, which in turn support the coverage. The roof of the building consists of metal trusses of variable height, supported centered or eccentrically on the pillars. In general, as an architectural option, rectangular tubular profiles and H profiles were used. Madres are also tubular profiles that support the covering of the roof, in this case being a visible element of the construction.

The most striking element of the complex is the set of shade shades. Each visor is an independent structural element, consisting of a main mast that supports a reticulated structure of circular tubes that is arranged on a curved surface and is entirely covered by a microperforated screen, with a total area of more than 50m2. This screen allows the passage of water but offers obvious resistance to the wind. The connection of the flap plane to the mast is completed by a set of slim stainless steel tie rods.
