Unit C Office Building - Plano Norte de Oeiras

July 2002

PECS was responsible for the structural and foundation projects and for some specialties of the Office C office building under the Plano Norte, located in Oeiras, Portugal.

In addition to the development of the projects, he was also responsible for their coordination and for monitoring the respective administrative licenses.

It is a building consisting of five floors and a technical floor, two buried (floors -3 and -2), a semi-buried floor (floor-1) and the remaining two in elevation (floors 0 and 1). The elevated floors are intended entirely for offices. The buried floors are intended for parking, with the semi-buried floor being used for services. The building has an implantation area of about 2500 m2.

Description

The structural solution involves the use of 0.50m (0.40m + 0.10m) thick fungiform slabs on floors -2 and
-1, and 0.40m (0.325m + 0.075m) thick light-shaped fungiforms on floors 0, 1 and Técnico with the use of non-adherent prestress through the adoption of monochromes in the bands (both directions) and ribs (direction transversal). Both prestressed floors have a similar prestress distribution with 10 monochromes per solid band and 1 monochord per rib. These slabs work supported directly on pillars, beams and walls, which transmit the loads to the foundations. These, depending on the characteristics of the terrain, are made using shoes. The resistant cores are located in central areas of the building in order to allow a good behavior to horizontal actions.
