January 2001

PECS was responsible for the projects of all the specialties of the building built for the headquarters of Miltours, a company representing the multinational TUI in Portugal.

 

PECS was responsible for the development of the projects of the different specialties, their coordination and the monitoring of the respective administrative licenses.

 

At the request of the Client, PECS also followed the discussion of the proposals of the various Contractors and was responsible for the appreciation of its technical and economic component with regard to specialty projects.

Description

The building consists of three service floors and a ground floor for parking and technical areas. Each floor, with an area of ​​approx. 650 m2, developed in a U-shape around a central courtyard.

One of the particularities of the building consists of the metallic shade structure of the patio. This structure, resulting from the dialogue between Architecture and Structure, has a floor area of ​​15.00m x 15.00m and is supported only by two points on two sides. The structure is supported by Macalloy S460 tie rods.

The building's structure consists of solid fungiform slabs supported on a set of peripheral reinforced concrete columns and beams to improve the behavior of horizontal actions.
