Lagoinha Wastewater Treatment Plant

2005

PECS was responsible for the structural and foundation projects and for some specialties at the Lagoinha Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

In addition to the development of the projects, he was also responsible for their coordination and for monitoring the respective administrative licenses.

The Treatment Station includes several buildings and different organs.

Description

The foundations proposed for the different bodies are of two types, depending on the existing conditions. The first concerns the building of the entrance work, pumping station, sander / degreaser, sludge thickener and sludge storage tank as well as the sludge exploration and treatment buildings, where the execution of the respective foundations is expected by means of molded piles “In situ”, with a diameter of 0.40m and an average length of 8.0m. The second type concerns the compact organ composed of the activated sludge basin and secondary settler that will be founded directly on the foundation ground, after replacing the foundation soil with a layer of Tout-venant with about 0.40m of thickness properly wrapped by geotextile blanket. Contact voltages were foreseen in this situation of 300 kPa.

The various organs foreseen in the project will be in reinforced concrete, with walls with a thickness varying between 0.20 and 0.40 m. The foundations will vary in thickness between 0.30 and 0.50 m in thickness. The buildings are made up of reinforced concrete pillar / beam structures, with solid slabs of varying thickness between 0.17 and 0.20 m.
